SGA President Candidate
Why Student Government?
During my time on campus, I have learned the ins and outs of ODU and can provide a unique perspective as a student starting in the middle of the pandemic. The position would allow me not only to grow as a student but as a professional, and give back in a big way.
Why do you believe you are qualified for this role?
As a resident assistant, I uphold high leadership standards that can assist me in the duties. I have also gained a strong skillset through problem-solving, teamwork, patience, and accountability. Another prestigious role that I hold on campus is the role of an ODU Campus Ambassador position with the Office of Admissions. The role has shaped me into becoming more professional and opened my eye to the inner workings ODU, which can transpose into the running of the Executive Board.
What do you believe are important student issues?
The issues facing the campus community are not only dealing with the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic but dealing with the new world that we are living in as mask mandates are removed and people are reacclimating to pre-COVID agendas. There are new obstacles that students are facing and that SGA needs to address to provide a smooth and authentic experience for incoming and current Monarchs.
